ELVIS AT RODEO CITY MUSIC HALL

RATING: $+++

Elvis Impersonator, David Allen
Rodeo City Music Hall, Mesquite

Tonight was fun.  It was definitely something "different" to do.  We saw David Allen, who is an Elvis impersonator.  He sang mostly Christmas songs and all Elvis songs.  He was pretty good and the audience loved him.  Seems like he has a lot of people who follow him around.  The show was only $15.  Good thing I had some cash on hand because it's cash only.  I usually don't carry much cash, so that would have been interesting!

The Rodeo City Music Hall was very quaint.  The chairs were comfy and the stage was a decent size.  The Hall is in downtown Mesquite and easy to get to after you pass all the Dallas traffic to get there.  The room had the feel of a high school auditorium.

INAUGURAL NIGHT -- TEXAS LEGENDS, NBA D-LEAGUE

RATING: $+++++

Texas Legends
Dr Pepper Arena, Frisco

Wow, was this a fun night!  Tonight was the opening night of the Texas Legends, which is the NBA's Development League (D-League).  Nancy Lieberman is the new head coach.  She is the first female coach for a men's pro-basketball team, and she is amazing to watch.

We have season tickets and get to sit only two rows behind the Legends' bench, so we get to see the team up-close all night.  The Legends play really hard.  They have some great players who really go all out and play with heart and play to win.  We are looking forward to a really fun season!

The Dr Pepper Arena is a nice stadium.  The chairs are a bit tight with not much leg room, which is kind of annoying for a new stadium.  The staff there is really friendly.  The food is your typical "game" food, and my favorite is their chicken fingers (a basket is $10).  Also be prepared to pay $10 for parking -- cash only.

Go, Texas Legends!
